Our team recently conducted a thorough inspection of the maize fields in Kantolomba Dagga and Munkulungwe, with the primary objective of assessing the severity of the army worm infestation on the crops. This initiative was undertaken to gain a comprehensive understanding of the extent to which these destructive pests are attacking the agricultural produce in these areas.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the government, particularly the ministry of agriculture, for their unwavering support in addressing this issue. Additionally, we extend our appreciation to Mulberry Development Limited for their generous contribution of chemicals and sprayers, which will undoubtedly assist the affected farmers in combating the army worm infestation.
Recognizing the critical importance of food security, it is imperative that we, as leaders, take every possible measure to ensure that agricultural production remains unaffected. By actively engaging in initiatives such as this, we can safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and contribute to the overall stability of our food supply.
In light of this, we strongly urge farmers to promptly notify the ministry of agriculture whenever they suspect the presence of army worms or any other calamity that may be impacting their crops. By seeking assistance in a timely manner, farmers can receive the necessary support and guidance to effectively combat these challenges, ultimately safeguarding their harvest and ensuring food security for all.
