The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it has arrested and charged Masaiti District Education Standards Officer (DESO) Richman Ndhlovu for corruption involving more than K166,000.
In a statement, ACC Head Corperate Communications Timothy Moono said Ndhlovu, 53, of house number D7 Kamirenda in Luanshya, has been charged with one count of Willful Failure to Comply with Applicable Procedure contrary to Section 34 (2) (b) as read with Section 41 of the Anti – Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
Moono said details of the offence are that, Ndhlovu on dates unknown but between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 in Masaiti District, being a Public Officer namely Headteacher at Masaiti Boarding Secondary School and Mushili Secondary School did willfully fail to follow applicable procedure when he authorized the procurement of payments of a sum of K166,685.00, a matter or transactions involving the Ministry of Education, a public body.
Moono added that Ndhlovu has since been released on bond and will appear before court soon.
