Empowerment Grants are once off funds that are given to Organized groups, cooperatives and Associations to undertake the projects that they wish to embark on. Below are the steps to take when forming a group, cooperative or Association.
1. Must have a minimum of ten (10) members.
2. Proof of a bank account or mobile wallet registered for the group.
3. Proposals for empowerment shall provide employment opportunities.
4. The project must be undertaken within the Constituency.
5. Applicants must have been residents of the Constituency for over 6 months.
6. Cooperatives, Clubs, Associations and Organized groups may qualify for a maximum of K40,000 as a one-off grant.
ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS FOR EMPOWERMENT GRANT:
a) A copy of a valid certificate of company, organization, group, cooperative, enterprise or club registered with PACRA, Registrar of NGOs, Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Registrar of Cooperatives, Local Authority, National Construction Council (NCC), National Youth Development Council (NYDC) and other Registration Bodies.
b) Green National Registration Card (NRC) where applicable for all project members.
c) A recommendation letter from a civic leader, religious leader, traditional leader, a Commissioner of Oaths or Bank Manager.
